Yesterday I went to the American Red Cross to obtain my CPR certification. After learning many interesting maneuvers (including the Heimlich!) we proceeded to learn the ins and outs of CPR. We were each issued with a disposable CPR Face Shield - something that wasn't in existence when I was first CPR Certified 15 years ago. It protects both the patient and the responder from disease transmission, and if you're certified in CPR you should carry one with you at all times.
