April Showers Bring Spring Cleaning
Until then, I might as well stop sulking and spend my time productively. What better time than now for spring cleaning? If I can’t enjoy the fresh air outside, I might as well freshen up the indoors, specifically my workspace.
The first task to undertake is dusting out the drawers; I suggest using dust clothes for drawers and desks. After the drawers are clean, use an extendable duster to wipe blinds, shelves and other hard-to-reach areas.
At this point, it’s time to organize. I recommend starting with the paperwork – file away papers and recycle anything marked unimportant. Then, put everything away nicely that isn’t used on a daily basis – no need for clutter! It’s also a good idea to wipe down the computer and sanitize everything that’s touched (keyboard, mouse, phone, printer, etc.).
Moving onto the floor, if you’re workplace doesn’t store a handheld vacuum, I suggest getting one. It makes cleaning your floor quick and painless, especially if you’re chair mat takes up half your cubicle. Plus, because it’s compact, nooks and crannies are easily reached.
After everything is spic-and-span I can enjoy a clean workspace as I wait out the rain. A quick look at the weather report gives me a little hope, the forecast calls for sunny skies and 62 degrees on Saturday. I’ll keep my fingers crossed until then.
