Mother's Day Gift Ideas
Have you been searching for Mother's Day gift ideas? For those of you running out of ideas, not to mention time, here is a list of suggestions. I’ve listed two options for each of the three categories below. And remember – no matter the gift, make sure to her send a card or e-card with a personal note from yourself.
For Simple and Inexpensive:
1) If your mom’s a working mom, send her Royal Dansk Cookies and a package of her favorite coffee or tea to be delivered at her office on Friday. If you order them from Next Day soon enough, there’s a good change they’ll arrive by tomorrow or Friday afternoon.
2) Card design or scrapbooking software for her home computer. Creating greeting cards and scrapbooking has never been easier. Try Hallmark Card Studio or Art Explosion Scrapbook Factory. And if you’re willing to spend a little extra, throw in a digital camera – they’ve come way down in price. Try Circuit City or Best Buy for a digital camera priced under $100.
For Semi-Easy and Higher-Priced:
1) New patio furniture or outdoor decor. Many furniture sites are set up for online ordering. Patio fountains make for relaxing and aesthetically pleasing outdoor décor.
2) A day at the spa. Find a local spa and make an appointment for a massage, facial, manicure and pedicure. She’ll feel refreshed and rejuvenated after her pampering session.
For Grand and Planned:
1) If you’re willing to spend some time and dough, you should consider a 3 night cruise vacation. There are tons of great deals on cruises (I’m talking $230 a person!). And if you book one that departs on a Friday evening, you’re really only missing Friday and Monday of work. As for the cost of airfare, consider using any frequent flier miles you’ve racked up. Otherwise Southwest has relatively inexpensive “Wanna Get Away” prices. I’ve found one-way flights for as cheap as $59.
2) Book a photographer and plan for a traditional family portrait. Find a nice outdoor location to gather your family for snapshots and smiles. Encourage brothers, sisters or your kids to help you. To make this “picture day” extra special for Mom, send her to a massage, manicure and pedicure appointment in the morning, before the picture. But remember, when you make the appointment, be sure to allow enough time for her to get ready between the spa and the photo. Then after the photos are ordered, locate a framing store and have the complete portraits delivered. This is a mother’s day gift she’ll display for years.
