Sometimes when I’m lying in bed trying to fall asleep, I imagine myself lying on a plush, foam-like cloud. The imaginary cloud allows my body to sink into complete comfort, creating a weightless sensation. After a few seconds in la-la land, the firmness of reality settles in, creating an uncomfortable pressure on the length of my body. The wake-up call is my too firm mattress. And it’s really starting to coil my nerves.
I can’t take the backaches and shoulder pain any longer. As of last night, I’ve had enough. My back aches from restless sleep on a too firm mattress. My pain has led me to three conclusions and two solutions: 1) I cannot afford a new mattress, 2) Instead, I will buy a plush pillow top add-on, and 3) I desperately need a back cushion for my desk chair at work.
The pillow top I’ll shop for over lunch, but as for the chair cushion – I’ll take care of that now. After all, I have to research for this blog, right?
Not to my surprise, I found what I’ve been daydreaming about all morning. While browsing through Next Day’s catalog, I found the Memory Foam Seat Cushions. Call me crazy, but as I read over the product description, a line from Gollum in Lord of the Rings (creepily) ran through my mind, “I wants it!” I mean seriously, who wouldn’t want a high-density memory cell foam cushion that’s temperature and pressure sensitive? If this helps with even 1/8th of what I’m feeling in my back right now, sign me up!
