Shopping for an Ethernet Cord? Make Sure to Consider Length!
Have you checked everything off of your “What to Take to College” checklist yet? Don’t forget the Ethernet cord! If your dorm room or apartment uses Ethernet for Internet connection, you’ll have to connect your computer to the network using an Ethernet cable.
If you think about it, you’ll likely keep the same cord, but not the same room for the next four years and there after. If you opt for the short Ethernet cable, it will limit the number of ways you'll be able to arrange your room. Your desk will always have to be located near the Ethernet outlet, and who knows where that will be in any given room! This may also pose a challenge, particularity when you throw a roommate into the mix.
Also, do me a favor, don’t run your cord down the middle of the room and then duck tape it to the carpet or up the wall to the ceiling. Not only is it unattractive, but the chances of you tripping over it, or it falling from the ceiling are more likely than you think. Instead, run it low around the bottom of the walls. This will keep it out of sight, and you out of danger.
Okay. So I’ve given you my most important tips and tricks on Ethernet cords. Now here are the ones available on Next Day that I recommend: the 14’ or 25’ Belkin cord. And don’t forget, we have free shipping for all orders over $50.00! Happy shopping!
